There are 24 students from SD 121/IX Jerambah Bolong that are being taught by Fatma Dewi about Zero Waste School Program. The children are very passionate to do the activities and they love the Tasini bag that they have received as motivational rewards.
SD 121/IX Jerambah Bolong is located at Sungai Gelam, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi. There are many famous tourist destinations around Muaro Jambi like the Muaro Jambi Temple or a trendy destination like Jambi Paradise. However, the surrounding villagers are still under appreciate the natural environment, which can be seen by their amount of waste that goes to the environment instead of landfill.
It’s a big concern for Fatma but she doesn’t have the resources to start making changes. Her introduction with Green-Books.org through a WhatsApp group gave her an opportunity to start her environment sustainability activities using the most tools that she likes, teaching students.
Fatma hopes to implement more eco-activities from Green-Books.org, so children can play and learn about the environment and sustainability.
