027 / Gn. Leutik, Bogor, West Java
Ever since the government appointed the surrounding area of Gn. Leutik as a National Park (Gunung Halimun Salak), the residents are at loss on how to make their living.
Due to low income and lack of education they started to do illegal logging and, as the result, landslides and clean water pollution has occurred.
Pak Adi, who has been helping his community by teaching children at his residence and mosques, was approached by Pak Angga from an environmental NGO called Sahabat Wanantara.
They have built 3 classrooms and carried out conservation and education programs. Pak Angga contacted us to step in and enrich their program with books about environmental awareness and activities.
