076 / Petukangan Selatan, South Jakarta – School Eco-Library
Mr. Viki Iswanto is managing a library that is serving up 2000 children from kindergarten, elementary, junior high and vocational school.
Unfortunately most of the books in the library are old and torn-apart. He encourages the students to upcycle and also has initiated competitions when students were given collage assignments concerning forest fires and other environmental issues in Indonesia.
Mr. Viki says: “The problem here is, that people still dispose their rubbish into the rivers. To overcome this problem, I taught our students to separate organic and non organic waste. And I hope that the Eco-Library program will give us ideas for more Eco-Activities.”
Previous supporters have funded more than 60 Eco-Libraries across Indonesia. You can join the movement by donating today.
