Mr. Zezen loves to read. As he has accumulated a lot of books, he decided to set up a library, so more people could have access to books.
He said that, as he did not get the best education when he was young, he wants to make sure that at least he can provide books to the next generation, so they will have better chances. He adds: “Because when we read, we will know”.
As he also loves traditional games which have been forgotten by children nowadays, he has started promoting them as well. For example, when they play traditional games, Mr. Zezen teaches them to make traditional toys using upcycled plastics, tins and things one would consider as waste. This shows his awareness for the importance of environment protection, which he wants to pass on to the children.
The Eco-Library will be located in the mosque, which is a central point for villagers to meet. So the reading activity will be done inside and outdoor activities can be done in the front yard.
