Mrs. Siti Rokhyati Agustiani is the head of library at a Junior High School and the university tutor of the library science department. She is also a traditional healer and she uses a part of the proceeds to fund an organization called Literasi Kuda Pustaka Khatulistiwa, that aims to spread the virus of literacy through books.
The Junior school that she works for has established an environmental programme called “The scouts love the nature” in order to be become an eco-friendly institution, earning the title of Adiwiyata School (Green School) in the future.
The town of Banjarnegara has introduced organic and non-organic rubbish bins, however they are not managed well. Mrs. Siti says: “Indonesia will be smart, if we make the children hungry for books and environmental education.”
